Our client, a leader in the cruise logistics sector, is seeking a strategic Ocean Freight Supervisor to anchor their operations. Ocean Freight Supervisor Responsibilities:
Manage and guide a team in handling cruise-related cargo bookings, documentation, and tracking.
Oversee the planning and execution of ocean freight shipments to align with cruise port schedules.
Develop strong partnerships with carriers, negotiating rates and ensuring timely deliveries.
Coordinate with customs brokers, port agents, and freight forwarders for smooth cargo transit.
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of shipping documents, including bills of lading and customs forms.
Monitor shipping schedules, optimize routes, and minimize costs while maintaining high service levels.
Resolve escalated shipping issues swiftly and efficiently, maintaining strong vendor relationships.
Train and mentor team members to enhance performance and uphold operational excellence.
Ocean Freight Supervisor Requirements:
4-6 years in ocean freight or international logistics, with 1-2 years in a leadership role.
Proven experience in cruise logistics, port operations, or maritime supply chains.
Expertise in Incoterms, shipping regulations, and customs procedures.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proficiency in logistics management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to handle high-pressure, fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.
Fluent in English; additional languages are an asset.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with cruise port logistics, ship deliveries, or bonded warehousing.
Experience managing temperature-sensitive or high-value shipments.
Knowledge of IMDG Code or other relevant transport certifications.
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field (preferred).
