We are seeking an experienced Micro Focus Visual COBOL Programmer to support ongoing development and maintenance of web service and batch business applications for the State of South Carolina . The ideal candidate will analyze complex system requirements, design and develop solutions, and ensure software stability across multiple environments.

• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex system issues.

• Develop and maintain applications using Micro Focus Visual COBOL on Windows Server 2019/2022 (batch/IIS).

• Code, test, debug, promote, and document software solutions.

• Lead and participate in solution design discussions.

• Develop and test programs in Visual Studio 2019/2022 using debugger.

• Work with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server) and write complex SQL queries.

• Configure and maintain IIS for application deployment.

• Provide regular status updates to the development manager.

• 8+ years of experience in Micro Focus Visual COBOL (Windows Server 2019/2022, batch, IIS).

• 4+ years of experience with Visual Studio 2019/2022.

• 4+ years of application development against RDBMS (Oracle, SQL).

• 5+ years of writing complex queries for Oracle and SQL Server.

• 2+ years of IIS setup and configuration.

• 1+ year of Microsoft C# .NET development.

• SAP Public Sector experience.

• Bachelor's degree in IT or related field (or 10+ years of equivalent experience).

• Certifications:

  • Micro Focus OES Certified Professional

  • Certified Visual Basic Developer

  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD)
